I offer individual counseling for adults and teenagers 14 years and over. I understand that taking this first step can be difficult, but my goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment for you to explore your mental health and work towards a happier and more fulfilling life. I offer both in-person and teletherapy sessions to cater to your specific needs.

Our initial diagnostic session is around 90 minutes and is dedicated to understanding your history, current mental and emotional state, and developing a treatment plan tailored to your specific situation. From there, we'll work together through individual counseling sessions that are 55 minutes long.

Fees & Cost for Services

Let Your Light Shine Counseling is committed to providing accessible, high-quality care. I currently offer both in-network and self-pay options, as well as resources to support clients using out-of-network benefits.

I am proud to be an in-network provider with the following insurance companies:

  • Aetna

  • Cigna

  • United Healthcare / Optum

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield (Coming Soon!): I am in the process of credentialing with BCBS and will update this page as soon as I can accept new BCBS clients.

In-Network Insurance

It is always recommended to verify your benefits directly with your insurance provider before your first session to confirm coverage and copay amounts.

Self-Pay Rates

(Available to all clients not using insurance benefits)

  • Initial Diagnostic Session (90 minutes): $125

  • Follow-up Sessions (55 minutes): $100

Standard Insurance Billed Rates

(Your out-of-pocket cost—co-pays, deductibles, etc.—will depend on your individual policy. These are the rates charged to the insurance company before coverage is applied)

  • Initial Diagnostic Session (90 minutes): $210

  • Follow-up Sessions (55 minutes): $185

Why Self-Pay?...

In a world of insurance, opting for self-pay might seem scary. You may think that your financial constraints make self-pay impossible. While that may hold true for some, it actually may have some benefits for others.

...Privacy

When an insurance claim is made, your therapist must provide a diagnosis for that particular session. This diagnosis may be included in your medical records, which can be viewed by other healthcare providers and you may prefer to keep your diagnostic information private. Not going through insurance and opting for a self-pay option ensures that no diagnosis is submitted to insurance or is accessible by other medical providers without a signed release.

...More Freedom

Insurance companies exert significant control over various aspects of treatment, including the session's location, duration, and whether they will pay can be contingent on your diagnosis. Additionally, insurance may impose limitations on the frequency and duration of appointments. By opting for Self-Pay, I, as your therapist, can provide you with the treatment I believe is most suitable for you without concerns about claim denial.

Affordable Care and Out-of-Network Options

As a clinician, I know how frustrating it is when cost is the biggest barrier to getting the mental health help you need. My goal is to make quality treatment accessible for those who don't have insurance or cannot afford traditional session fees. That's why I am committed to offering the following flexible options:
