Meet Ashley Martin...
So, my professional background is a bit unusual for a therapist...
Hi, I'm Ashley, and before my counseling career, I was a Kitchen and Bath Designer... yep! I enjoyed that work for years, developing skills in creativity, collaboration, and finding solutions to complex problems.
But after 15 years, I realized I was ready for something deeper and more meaningful. This shift was driven by two things: my desire to make a lasting impact, and my own profound experience of being on the other side of the therapy chair. I know firsthand how truly life-changing a genuine, trusting therapeutic relationship can be.
This conviction led me back to school, where I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from NC A&T State University, along with a Certificate in Behavioral Addictions. My path to counseling gives me a unique perspective on creative problem-solving and meeting people where they are.
Dually Licensed: I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA-NC #A18027) and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS-28293). While I have specialized expertise in addiction and substance use disorders, I compassionately treat clients navigating anxiety, depression, and complex emotional challenges.

Targeted Modalities: I utilize highly effective, evidence-based methods tailored to your needs, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Brainspotting (for trauma and deep emotional processing).

My Approach
As a Christian counselor, I see spirituality as a powerful part of healing, but it’s always your choice. If you’d like to include faith in your sessions, I’ll meet you there. If not, we’ll focus on what feels right for you. My goal is to help you find strength, clarity, and connection in whatever way is most meaningful to you.

I use humor and a relaxed approach that allows you to have a space where you can simply be you. I believe through a therapeutic and safe relationship, you will have the ability to work through past and current struggles so that you will be able to once again shine as your true and authentic self. Together we can work on managing the stressors in your life by developing healthy coping strategies and cultivating a stronger sense of self-worth. My role is to offer connection, safety, and trust as we explore and discover your inner light together.
